Rob Haertel, President
Rob was born in Salt Lake City and graduated from Murray High. He received his Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in Business Management/Finance, with minors in Accounting and Economics. He received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Utah, with an emphasis in Financial Management and Entrepreneurship. He received his Juris Doctor (JD) from Concord Law School with an emphasis in Taxation and Debtor-Creditor law. He is an adjunct professor at DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management and loves to teach.
In addition to being an Associate Lending Manager and Mortgage Originator at Capital Assets, Rob is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in federal taxation, Real Estate Agent, and a life and health insurance agent.
Rob enjoys doing tax consulting and expert witness work in the mortgage industry. He speaks fluent Spanish and loves to learn, teach, and serve others. He has served two missions in Guadalajara, Mexico and has served on various boards for nonprofit organizations.
Alma Hansen, Senior Vice President
Alma graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Business Management, with minors in Economics, Accounting, and Dutch. He received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Utah.
Alma is active in the mortgage lending community. Alma was a member of the Utah Mortgage Lenders Association (UMLA) for 10 years and served as President of the Salt Lake chapter from 2007-2009. He has been a member of the Utah Association of Alternative Lenders (UAAL) since 2000. He was a Utah CE Instructor for Alternative lending in Utah from 2005-2010.
Alma shared his knowledge with others as he taught Managerial Accounting classes for University of Phoenix as an adjunct professor. He also went to many high schools across Utah to teach the students about credit as part of the UMLA Credit Wise program. Alma wrote, published, and produced “Money Matters,” a newsletter that went out to tens of thousands of Real Estate Agents and Mortgage Brokers for 27 years.
Spencer Hansen, Vice President of Operations

Spencer has been working as a loan officer with Capital Assets since 2008. He graduated with his MBA from the University of Utah and with his bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship from Brigham Young University. Spencer enjoys working with borrowers to solve their real estate problems whether it is a purchase, refinance, development loan, or business loan.
With his years of experience originating loans he has become proficient at closing loans very quickly and efficiently, whether that be a private money loan or traditional conventional or FHA loan. He works personally on all of his loans so that the loan process is not intimidating for the borrower. Spencer’s strong background in accounting and financial analysis help our borrowers logically think through financial options to determine the best loan choice for their situation during a one on one meeting. As an expert in a wide variety of products Spencer has the experience and creative knowledge to solve borrower’s most difficult problems.
Spencer enjoys life with his beautiful wife and 3 darling children.
Vance Twitchell, Vice President of Development
Vance became part of the Capital Assets family in 2013 after a number of years of consulting for the company. He graduated from Utah State University Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
Vance has been involved with home building since 2004 and loves all aspects of real estate. He has worked in geotechnical, water rights, and water resource consulting. He became licensed as a loan officer in 2007 to learn the financial side of home building.
Currently Vance manages the REO portfolio of Capital Assets along with writing loans. He loves to take a difficult property through to build out and sale. His expertise in land development helps Capital Assets be one of the best land lenders in Utah.
Stacey Van Roosendaal, Loan Officer
Stacey graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah with a B.A. in Strategic communication. She is fascinated by real estate, finance, and marketing, which is why she loves to work for Capital Assets.
In addition to her responsibilities at Capital Assets, Stacey loves to serve. She has served with Make a Wish Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and founded her own non-profit organization, Payit4ward.org. She received the “Above and Beyond” award from Make a Wish in 2007 and the “Miss America Service” award in 2010. Stacey served as Miss Murray in the Miss America pageant system and has been voted Miss Congeniality 5 times.
